Once upon a time, in a sunny park in Green Bay, an 11-year-old boy named Vince was out for a walk with his dad, Lorenzo. They were having fun, laughing and talking, when they spotted something lying on the grass. It was a wallet!
Vince picked it up and looked inside. There was a driver’s license with a name and an address. Vince knew right away that they should return it. He felt it in his heart that it was the right thing to do. So, he and his dad decided to find the owner.
When they called the number on the license, a kind man named Jason answered. He said his son, Chase, wasn’t home, but he was very grateful for the help. Jason offered Vince a little money as a thank you. Vince just smiled and said, “I don’t need anything. I just want to help.”
But the story didn’t end there. Chase’s stepmom, Michelle, heard about what Vince did. She wanted to thank him in a big way. So, she went on Facebook and told everyone how wonderful Vince was. People started to reach out, wanting to know how they could help.
When Michelle learned that Vince’s dad was sick and couldn’t work, she decided to start a GoFundMe page to help him. The community came together and donated more than $9,000! They wanted to show their support for Vince and his family.
Vince was surprised and a little shy about all the attention. He simply said, “Doing the right thing is good.” He never thought his small act of kindness could make such a big difference.
In the end, the Hietpas family found kindness from others, and they felt very lucky. This beautiful story reminds us that when we do good things, good things can come back to us, too. Kindness is a light that shines bright in our world, and even a simple act can create a wave of goodness.
