A Day with Animals, Some Beautiful Moments Captured

    BeFunky design 5

Animals have a special way of creating beautiful moments that are captured in photos. While humans often carefully pose for pictures, animals don’t try to look good—they simply live in the moment. It’s these spontaneous moments that often turn out to be the most stunning. Let me take you through a few of the incredible animal moments I’ve witnessed.

    The Lazy Cat Wakes Up

One morning, I saw a big, lazy cat slowly waking up after a long nap. The cat stretched, yawned, and followed his usual morning routine before even thinking about breakfast. It was funny because, despite tigers being fierce creatures, this cat’s slow and peaceful movements reminded me more of a small house cat. It was a quiet, simple moment, but it made me smile.

    The Peacock’s Stunning Display

Not far from the cat, I spotted a peacock in full display. The bird’s long, beautiful feathers shone in the sunlight as it fanned them out, creating a colorful masterpiece. I quickly snapped a photo at the perfect moment, capturing the bright colors in all their glory. The peacock’s beauty seemed almost magical, like something straight out of a fairy-tale.

    The Curious Cheetah Cubs

As I continued walking, I came across two cheetah cubs, sitting close together and staring intently at something in the distance. Perhaps they were watching their mother, waiting for her to return with food. Their large, innocent eyes were full of wonder, and I couldn’t help but think about how tiny and vulnerable they looked. It was a moment of pure sweetness.

    Screenshot 2023 02 17 113450

The Elephant Herd on the Move

A little further into the Savannah, I saw a herd of elephants moving across the landscape. The leader of the group walked confidently ahead, while the others followed closely behind, including some adorable baby elephants. The mothers kept a close watch on their little ones as the group made its way to a new feeding spot or water source. The sight of these massive creatures moving together in the wild was both peaceful and powerful.

    Screenshot 2023 02 17 113628

    The Shy Parrot

In the trees nearby, I noticed a parrot perched on a branch, facing away from the camera. Even though I couldn’t see its face, the bird’s vibrant feathers were striking. I wondered if it had a mate or if it was perfectly happy living on its own. It seemed so calm and peaceful, enjoying the quiet of its surroundings. Sometimes, the most beautiful moments are the quiet, unnoticed ones.

    Screenshot 2023 02 17 113737

    The Scared Kitten

While wandering, I came across a little white kitten stuck up in a tree. Its big eyes were wide with fear, and it seemed unsure of how to climb down. I could almost hear the kitten’s tiny voice calling out for help. I couldn’t help but feel sorry for the poor little thing, trapped in a place it didn’t understand. It was a tender moment that captured the kitten’s innocence and vulnerability.

    Screenshot 2023 02 17 113931

The Tiger Cub and Its Mother

Not too far away, I saw a tiny tiger cub nestled close to its mother. The little cub was seeking warmth and comfort, and though it looked small and fragile, it was already showing signs of its strength. In that moment, the cub seemed so innocent and soft, but I knew that one day, it would grow into a powerful tiger. Its mother would teach it how to survive in the wild, preparing it for the challenges ahead.

    Screenshot 2023 02 17 114108

    The Parrot’s Funny Pose

I couldn’t stop laughing when I spotted a parrot standing on a branch with its wings raised, as if it were giving a signal or making a big decision. The pose reminded me of a traffic officer directing traffic or a judge raising a hand to deliver a verdict. It was such a funny sight, and the parrot seemed to be enjoying its role in the spotlight. I quickly snapped a photo to remember this silly moment.

    Screenshot 2023 02 17 114247

    The Thoughtful Gorilla

A little further along, I came across a gorilla sitting quietly, looking deep in thought. The expression on its face seemed intense, almost like it was angry or upset. But I reminded myself that animals, like humans, can have complex emotions. Perhaps the gorilla was simply lost in thought or trying to figure something out. I couldn’t help but feel that there was a depth of emotion behind that serious face.

    Screenshot 2023 02 17 114600

    The Sleepy Koala

Further along, I spotted a koala curled up in a tree, looking perfectly content to take a nap. Koalas are known for being sleepy creatures, and this one was no exception. Despite its reputation for being lazy, the koala looked peaceful and relaxed, resting after what was probably a long day of eating eucalyptus leaves. Sometimes, even the busiest creatures need to take a break.

    Screenshot 2023 02 17 114905

    The Mysterious Bird

I also encountered a bird with a unique and striking appearance. Its feathers were bold and colorful, but there was something a little intimidating about it as well. Still, when I looked closer, I saw that the bird had an innocent look in its eyes, making it feel both beautiful and mysterious. Nature sure knows how to create creatures that catch our attention in unexpected ways.

    Screenshot 2023 02 17 115024

    The Grace of Butterflies

As I walked through the field, I noticed a butterfly fluttering by, its delicate wings a swirl of colors. Butterflies have always been a gift of nature, and watching them dance through the air fills me with joy. There’s something so magical about their graceful flight. I managed to capture a photo of one mid-flight, and it was one of the most lovely moments of my day.

    Screenshot 2023 02 17 115120

While we humans take photos with careful planning, animals offer something different. Their photos are spontaneous and natural, full of real moments and raw beauty. Sometimes, it’s these unexpected snapshots that turn out to be the most meaningful—proving that animals, in all their natural grace, are often far more beautiful than anything we could ever plan.

In Istanbul, a very special stray dog named Boji has become famous. Unlike other stray dogs that hang out on street corners or look for food in trash cans, Boji has found a unique way to get around the city: he rides the public transportation!

Boji isn’t like other pets that need a leash or a guide. He knows exactly what to do. He waits at bus stops and metro stations just like any other person would. When the bus or subway arrives, Boji hops on. He doesn’t need a ticket, and he knows exactly where to get off. People often see him traveling from one part of the city to another. If the weather is nice, he likes to sit in the sun while he waits for his ride.

At first, people were curious about the dog who seemed to be using public transportation like a pro. Soon, the Istanbul city officials took notice, too. They decided to help by putting a small tracker on Boji so they could learn more about his travels. The tracker showed that Boji travels around 27 to 30 kilometers a day, stopping at 29 different places! That’s a lot of bus and subway rides for a dog!

Despite being a stray, Boji is very polite on the buses and trains. He never causes trouble, and people love seeing him. He is calm and patient, waiting quietly for his stops. The city even made sure to check on him and make sure he was safe, and Boji’s journey continues to be one of the most heartwarming stories in Istanbul.

The little emperor penguin chicks were about to do something very brave. They were going to take their very first swim.

In a video from National Geographic, you can see these fluffy baby penguins standing at the edge of a tall cliff. They look over at the water below, feeling both scared and excited. There are almost 700 chicks gathered together, their hearts racing.

    antarctica emperor penguins

Suddenly, one tiny penguin takes a deep breath and jumps off the cliff. Splash! The little chick pops up in the water, shaking its feathers and swimming away with a joyful wiggle.

This special moment happened in Atka Bay, where the ice meets the ocean. The video was taken by a man named Bertie Gregory, who camped near the penguins for two months. He was amazed to see these chicks take such a big leap.

“Every day I hoped to see something new,” Bertie said. And he did! Normally, baby penguins jump from small pieces of ice that are just a little high. But this time, the little ones found themselves at a big 50-foot cliff.

Bertie noticed the chicks gathering at the edge, ready to jump. “One by one, they took their first swim,” he said, his eyes shining with excitement.

It was a big jump, and the water below had floating ice chunks, like hard rocks. But these brave little penguins were strong. They fell and splashed into the ocean, and instead of sinking, they surfaced, chirping with delight, “Look at me! I can swim!”

This moment was so special, as these chicks were experiencing their first swim ever. “I was so surprised that they were not just okay, but having fun,” Bertie said, smiling.

The magic of this event will be shared in the documentary “Secrets of the Penguins,” coming to National Geographic and Disney+ on Earth Day 2025. The world will get to see how brave these little penguins are as they start their journey in the big ocean.

  • Mother Goose Cares for 47 Babies and Keeps Them Safe

Mother Goose Cares for 47 Babies and Keeps Them Safe

    jul06 part02 07

Imagine a mother goose waddling through the South Saskatchewan River in Canada, with 47 fluffy little goslings trailing behind her. It’s a sight that makes you smile and wonder: how does she do it? Taking care of three or four children is tough enough, but this goose has nearly fifty little ones relying on her. If she could take a break, maybe a cozy nest and a peaceful rest by the river would make her day a little brighter.

A Canadian photographer named Mike Digout spotted this special goose family during one of his walks along the river. He had taken up photographing beavers during the lockdown, but soon, he became fascinated by the geese. He noticed this mother goose with more babies than usual—so many that it didn’t seem possible. Normally, Canadian geese lay only a few eggs each season. But there she was, leading a large group of goslings. While geese sometimes form “gang broods” where several families combine their babies, this mother seemed to be managing most of the flock on her own, sometimes with help from her mate.

    image2 1 2 1024x774 1

When Mike first found her, she had just a fraction of the babies she would later have. He couldn’t believe his eyes when he saw her with 16 goslings. “I was amazed,” he shared. “So I started visiting every evening to see her and her growing group. Every time, there seemed to be more goslings with her.”

By May 26, 2020, Mike’s photos showed her caring for 26 little ones. He joked on Facebook, “This momma was watching 26 goslings today in Saskatoon. Must be a very caring goose.” But just a few days later, her group had swelled to 47! It was unusual to see one adult taking care of so many babies, and Mike was curious about how this all worked. He wondered, “Is this a daycare for goslings while the other parents rest, or did she adopt these little ones from other families?” If it was just daytime care, why didn’t the goslings leave her side at night?

    image4 1 2 865x1024 1

Instead, they stayed close, nestling under her wings as the sun set. About 36 of them would cuddle up under her warmth to sleep. It was clear they trusted her and felt safe with her, like she was their true mother.

Mike couldn’t get enough of watching this heartwarming scene. “It was amazing to see,” he said. “I got a bit addicted to going out each evening to look for this mom and her babies.”

He was impressed by her gentle nature. Even with so many little ones around, she stayed calm and kind. She never seemed upset when a gosling wandered off or bumped into another. “She has such patience with all those babies,” Mike said. “She’s a really loving mom.”

    image3 1 1 1024x768 1

Geese are known for being social creatures, and it’s not unheard of for them to adopt other goslings. According to Jamie Harder, who works with Saskatoon’s Meewasin Valley Authority, these “gang broods” can sometimes have over 100 young geese. “They are just such welcoming parents,” Jamie explained. “They take in any goslings nearby.”

This mother goose’s story is one of warmth and care, a little reminder that nature has its own way of showing love. And thanks to Mike Digout, we get to share in the wonder of her big, beautiful family.

Parveen Kaswan, a forest ranger in India, shared a special video showing a group of elephants saying goodbye to a baby elephant. The video touched many hearts on social media.

In the video, an adult elephant gently stayed beside the baby’s body, almost like it was protecting it. Then, other elephants came, walking together in a line, like a quiet parade. They gathered around the baby, their movements slow and careful.

The first elephant lifted the baby again, with the others walking close behind. It was a moment that showed how deeply they care, just like people do when they say goodbye to someone they love.

The video reached many people, with over 5,000 shares and 12,000 likes. Elephants have been known to grieve for their lost ones, just like humans.

  • Scientists Find 512-Year-Old Shark, Oldest Living Animal

Scientists Find 512-Year-Old Shark, Oldest Living Animal

    1 49

A few months back, scientists found a very old shark swimming in the North Atlantic Ocean. They knew this shark was old, but they were amazed to learn it might be around 512 years old. That would make it the oldest living vertebrate in the world.

Greenland sharks, like this one, are known to live much longer than other animals. They grow very slowly and don’t even become adults until they’re about 150 years old. Some have been known to live nearly 400 years. But this shark, at 512 years, is a new record.

    1 252

This means the shark was born in 1505—before Shakespeare was even born. The discovery was published in a research study. A marine biologist named Julius Nielsen and his team found this out by measuring radiocarbon in the shark’s eye lenses. That’s how they figured out its age.

“This shark is truly special. It’s among the oldest creatures on Earth,” the biologist said.

The study showed that Greenland sharks live even longer than scientists once believed. To learn more, Nielsen and his team studied 28 Greenland sharks. The way they determined the age of these sharks is much more accurate than before. Earlier, scientists guessed a shark’s age based on its size. Since Greenland sharks only grow about 0.4 inches per year, that method wasn’t very precise, especially as the sharks got older.

    1 253

For years, researchers struggled to figure out how long these sharks live. Steven Campana, an expert from the University of Iceland, shared how surprising it is that they didn’t know if the sharks lived 20 years or 1,000 years, despite being a top predator in Arctic waters.

Julius Nielsen has spent much of his career learning about these sharks. He even showed a picture of one eating a polar bear carcass. He also mentioned that many of these sharks have little parasites stuck to their eyes, making them look a bit unhealthy.

Because Greenland sharks live for such a long time, they travel around the ocean and don’t stay in one place. Scientists found that many of the sharks share similar genes, suggesting that they all come from the same place and spread out over time. But how these sharks reproduce is still a mystery. What scientists do know is that these sharks prefer the cold Arctic waters.

    1 254

Now, scientists are eager to learn why the Greenland shark lives so much longer than other animals. They hope that studying the shark’s genes might help them understand more about long life spans in other species too.

“This is the oldest vertebrate on Earth,” said the biologist. “We’re working with scientists from Denmark, Greenland, the USA, and China to study the shark’s entire genetic code. This might help us understand why this shark outlives other sharks and vertebrates.”

When asked how the shark could live over 500 years, Nielsen guessed that the cold water and slow metabolism might be the key. But he admits that more research is needed to know for sure.
